Frequently Asked Questions
Q) How long will my project take to complete?
A) Most yard builds take an average of 2 to 4 weeks to complete, depending on the size of the project. Individual softscape features like a garden bed with trees and shrubs normally take a few days, whereas individual hardscape features like a patio or retaining wall take 1 to 2 weeks.

Q) How much does a landscape cost?
A) Landscapes range in cost depending on what kind of features and materials you want in your project, as well as the grade of quality you're looking for. Generally speaking, softscape features like sod, mulch and plants are more economical than hardscape features like patios, retaining walls and decorative stones. This comes down to the materials price as well as the added time and labor to move the heavier hardscape materials. Our full yard builds normally cost $25,000 to $50,000, whereas individual features can range from $1,500 to $15,000+
We also offer clients the option to do their project over a few years with multiple phases, which helps make a pricey investment more affordable and manageable.

Q) Can I incorporate my own specific ideas into the design?
A) Yes, please! Sometimes clients already have their dream yard sketched onto paper - all we need to do in this instance is measure the yard and do the math. For those who aren't quite sure what they want, we are happy to work with you to design a yard you'll love.

Q) How will drainage and grading issues be managed?
A) Proper water management is crucial in preventing pooling water, erosion or structural damage to homes. The first objective with any yard build is to ensure rainwater runs where it cannot compromise the integrity of your home or any buildings on-site. We like to take this a step further and direct the runoff to where it can water plants on it's way out of your yard. We accomplish this with grading as well as with french drains and swales.

Q) Who is responsible for locating utility lines before digging begins?
A) We always handle this one. Once you've approved the project we contact Alberta One Call and schedule them in to locate the lines in your yard. It normally takes about 1 week for all the lines to be located.

Q) How will site safety, cleanup and waste disposal be managed during and after construction?
A) We are serious about safety and always use the proper PPE and safety procedures to make sure we are on top of it. At the end of the day, everyone should go home safe. Cleanup and waste disposal are managed throughout the duration of the project. At the end of the project we leave the site clean and the project 100% complete for you to enjoy.

Q) When can you start my project?
A) As soon as you have approved the design, estimate and terms, we can schedule your project. If you want your project done asap, it's a good idea to reach out pre-season (as early as January). The design - estimate - approval process normally takes around a week and the utility locates take another week. After that, it's as simple as getting your project booked on the calendar.
